Keywords: Drug Discovery
Invention Description:
Children's Hospital investigators have developed a new program called CAGED (Cluster Analysis of Gene Expression Dynamics) that implements a new Bayesian statistical model for analyzing repeated gene expression measurements from the same patient or cell line.
CAGED 1.0 runs on a Microsoft Windows 9x/NT/ME/2000/XP platform with a recommended 1 GB of RAM and 20 MB of hard disk space. Additional information on CAGED may be obtained through: PNAS (2002) 99: 9121-9126.
Applications:
This technology helps analyze microarray data to recognize patterns for downstream applications such as clinical research or drug discovery.
Competitive Advantages:
Traditional clustering methods such as correlation used for analysis of microarray data are unable to handle such time series data as the values are not independent. CAGED has been specifically designed to handle data collected over a period of time.
